Brussels-London-Seattle

This is it. The adrenalin prior to a long trip leading to a far destination, a fresh adventure, a new challenge.
After a week of pure chaos, trying to keep up with an endless task list and squeezing in a few hours sleep between meetings and goodbye-parties, finishing off the A400M project and acquiring the principles of the new B787 technology, Belgian bureaucracy and Americ
an embassy fooling around....I'm preparing my bag, my books, my tie and shoes. A "clean" haircut, a straightened back and an electric toothbrush: America, be prepared !
Symbolically, it's a Boeing that has to take me away from Europe, flying to its home town Seattle. Not just a Boeing, the amazing 747, -400 latest generation (competitor of "my" A380.) The Brits will do the job, obligeing me a final recall to beautiful Oxford English: I'll miss it. Wonder when I'll be able to post my next message, in the meantime remark that by clicking on comments everyone of you can add to the milestone in literature this blog is intended to become.... (one day) ;o). Grtz. Stijn

Countdown has started

One week to go...I've created this blog so to keep everybody at home informed (basically I'm just too lazy to write mails on a regular basis). Loads of meetings and appointments are preventing me to enjoy looking forward to take off. Seattle will be my home for the next year. Bizarrely - even though this is the fourth time I'll be living "abroad" (how can this word exist if the reference has faded away ?) - this new adventure seems to be different: America as a threatening different planet, filled with aliens and strange cultures. A big challenge, a clear path to follow in these turbulent days and who knows; a trip that might lead me to grasp some of my unknowns.
